The internet has opened up the world of food. With a click I can order ingredients that allow me to cook dishes from the far flung corners of the globe. I shall start with www.souschef.co.uk -a favourite website that offers lots of cheffy ingredients –for example couverture chocolate, feuilletine, cep powder and a range of great kitchen equipment. It is very efficient and arrives within a few days. For hard to come by fresh ingredients I always find www.natoora.co.uk are a great help. There can sometimes be a problem with delivering delicate produce outside London but in general they do a really good job. When I am homesick and need a fix of French supermarket staples I go to www.frenchclick.co.uk. It is a source of great comfort to think that pots of Savora mustard, cornichons, packets of charcuterie, Côte d’Or chocolate and Maison du Café coffee will be landing on my doorstep. For exotic ingredients www.thai-food-online.co.uk have been very useful and, I think, very good value for money.
Bear in mind with Christmas looming that foodie presents are always welcome and often the perfect thing to give those people who are tricky to buy presents for. You can find a fantastic range of cheesey gifts at www.thecourtyarddairy.co.uk. A subscription to the monthly cheese club can’t fail to please. Their range of cheeses is unique and always top quality.
